A downloadable game

A science fiction tabletop RPG set at the end of the 21st century, where you play oppressed, marginalised, and disillusioned citizens living in a socially divided but ultraconnected society.

The Earth is a dying remnant of the climate crisis, left to burn by the richest 1% who now live a life of luxury in vast space stations floating at Earth’s stable Lagrange Points. Mars is a wild frontier colonised by scientists and corporations and torn apart by factional warfare. You are anarchists, survivors, rebels, hacktivists, and high-tech radicals, fighting for social justice in an unjust world.

PERIHELION is inspired by the movies of Neill Blomkamp; The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey; the Takeshi Kovacs novels by Richard Morgan; Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams; Third World War by Pat Mills & Carlos Ezquerra; Appleseed by Masamune Shirow; and the books of William Gibson.

PERIHELION features:

  • A detailed lifepath system for creating all sorts of characters, from slum gangers to spacecraft captains and popular social media influencers
  • A D10 system that uses opposed rolls and margins of success to resolve actions (it's all about "you vs. them")
  • A core mechanic that rewards characters for overcoming adversity and facing personal hardship
  • Detailed rules for managing dynamic social scenes, computer hacking, space flight, combat, microgravity and more!
  • A wealth of background material covering the decades leading up to 2098; from Earth's climate disaster, through the rise of the United Democratic Commonwealth and the AI revolution, to the corporate conflicts of the latter half of the century

When finished, PERIHELION will be available as a free CC BY-NC-SA PDF. If you want, you can always buy me a cuppa!
