Summer Update, Oh My!


Hey folks,

Sorry for the absence, life has been busy and I've been dealing with a few health issues and lifestyle changes. All good, though! Just time consuming. The cool thing about writing a game as a labour of love is, I can manage the pressure and commitment of doing so and balance it with my wellbeing.

So, where am I up to? I'm still working through the rules section but have side-lined completing that (which is maybe 90% done?) in favour of trying to put together a 32 page quick start. This will feature:

  • A compressed, but near-complete set of core mechanics and rules for social conflict, combat, space ships and vehicles, hacking, and everything else you need to play
  • A bunch of pre-generated characters
  • A short adventure set in the Baja Free Territories and CentrAm
  • Some art, if I can get some commissioned

Why this instead of the main rulebook? I'm hoping for some playtesting outside my own gaming group, and maybe to drum up some interest. It's as simple as that.

So that's where I'm at for now. Again, apologies for the delay in updates. I'll try to keep to a monthly schedule moving forward but it very much depends on how much free time I get to work on PERIHELION. Rest assured though, progress is being made!
